Human-first ChatGPT alternative
A search engine with a brain and a heart.
| ChatGPT / Claude | Moka Pot | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it comes from | A model writes a new answer from everything it has read. | A person who wrote about it. You see who. |
| How many views | One. The model settles on a middle answer. | Five. Different people, different opinions, side by side. |
| How much you get | A short version. The detail that took years to learn is cut. | The whole article, the way the writer built it. |
| Who you meet | No one. | The author: picture, name, website, social links. |
| The words | Rewritten by the model. | Quoted exactly, checked against the article. |
| The shape | A few lines in a chat box, no headings — or a long document you did not ask for. | Headings, photos, length: the writer chose them. |
| When it was written | Usually not shown. | Shown with every article. |
| What the writer gets | Nothing. Their work goes into the answer without their name. | A reader. The link goes to their page. |
| If there is no good source | It answers anyway. | It says so. |
| Good at | Writing, coding, making things for you. | Finding people worth reading. |
| Made by | OpenAI. Anthropic. | Some guy. |

A search engine with the brain and the heart
A search engine is supposed to send you to someone else's site. That is the ethical way, and it is what Moka does: five people, a few of their own words, and the link. We keep nothing that is not ours, we do not want more of your time, and we only need to make ends meet. Beyond that, the content is someone else's, and we make every possible attempt to show it as theirs.
How it works
- Moka searches the Google-ranked results for your exact question, in Google's order — the top 30, then deeper, up to 100.
- It reads the articles it is allowed to read, respecting each site's robots.txt.
- It checks that a real person wrote each one: a name, a byline, an about page.
- It checks every quotation against the article's own text. If the words are not there, the quote is not shown.
- It shows five writers at a time, with dates. If the top 100 hold no verified human source, Moka says so.
AI works behind the scenes — to search, read, verify and organise. It is never the one talking.
Questions become pages
A good question is kept as a page of its own, so the next person who wonders the same thing finds the same people. Pages say "someone asked"; nothing about who asked is stored. Questions about a private person or your own particular situation are never published.
For writers
If Moka Pot has introduced you and something is wrong — the picture, the links, the quotation — write to someguy@mokapot.co and it will be corrected. The article stays yours; Moka quotes a few verified sentences and links to the rest.
